The Navajo tribe has about 300,000 members.
It is the second largest tribe in the United States. It is a Native American reservation in parts of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. Today the Navajo speak English, but many still know Navajo, which is an Athabaskan language. The Navajo now live in modern homes. In the past, they lived in dome shape buildings called hogans. These homes were made from earth. The Navajos were farmers. They grew squash, corn and beans and they hunted animals like deer, antelope and rabbits.
